The University of GEorgia - Admissions20 years ago, admission to the University of Georgia was not overly difficult - but boy have times changed. With the introduction of the Georgia Hope Scholarship and along with the explosive growth in the population of Georgia, UGA has become a very competitive school. Many applicants to UGA have found that it is easier to gain admission as a transfer student, as only freshman with strong high-school GPA and SAT scores can expect to be admitted. It is strongly encouraged that prospective students speak with a guidance counselor or an admissions officer who can offer more information on the transfer possibilities. Not all transfer credits will be accepted, and any student wishing to transfer in from another college needs to make sure that their school is accredited and that the hours earned will be applied toward a University of Georgia degree program. |
